Scientific Research & Self-Development Activism
Hi, I'm not technically new (on paper, or digital record in this case) but I wanted to post here because I've never actually been active before, and I haven't introduced myself before; and besides - It would feel odd not to make a post in the introductory section of the forum when there actually is one.
So, who am I?
Well, I'm a 19-year old unemployed (Hoping to get into Uni in near future) kid from Sweden who think's he understands and knows more than he probably actually does, and has higher expectations of himself in the future than any sane personality usually have. Still, I would in fact; consider myself sane.
I'm very careful with my grammar and the way I use words, even when it isn't necessary at all - And I tend to express myself probably too little because I am being very pedantic about the actual importance behind the messages that I'm trying to convey.
So why have I chosen to join the magnificent ranks of IPower?
Well, it is rather odd of me, because I'm very much a loner. I tend to (usually) feel better and grow as a person when I'm in fact alone, with my thoughts. Part of the reason is that I'm overly sensitive (especially for a guy) to the harshness that can be human emotion. (Mostly because of its frequent absurdity)
I thought however that I need to be more actively involved with other people trying to grow like I do. And I've got to say that it's quite an irony, but my top all-time interest probably IS self-development.
My angle on self-development is mainly meditation and spiritual work, spiritual as in eastern practices of Internal Arts (Tai Chi, Qi Gong, etc) but also from a perspective of science. Trying to see myself and my practices from a perspective of scientific understanding and reasoning is my main interest. I'll probably elaborate on this in another post on the forum.
That's mostly what I wanted to say here, thanks for having me!

You hold very interesting information within you,
I hope you'll post more topics about your Eastern practices of internal arts.
Regards,
Michael

I certainly will. I just have to reflect a bit on how to tackle the subject. I appreciate your reply!
