You have to let them know that you don't smoke that anymore.
Most of my friends smoke weed but when they offered it to me I just said clearly that I wouldn't smoke that shit. Same goes for any other kind of smoke.
I had friends that smoked but they also understood when I quit. I kinda realized that was all they ever wanted to do at some point so I just started hanging around others.

Hey everyone this is amazing reading this Its 2012 and I have been clean for the last year. I'm about to get my personal training licence and start helping people get healthy. This thread has helped me so much. I Power has saved my life.

I hope this can help others you can do it!!!

Good to hear, Adriano!  Some threads are worth waking up again; and I'm a little surprised that this one wasn't featured when you originally posted it.  I guess I can fix that now.  ;-)

Thanks for bumping this thread. What a coincidence. I myself am quitting weed, I've been in a long process of emotional separation of the drug and tomorrow is the day I throw all my smoking gear in the garbage.

I was hopelessly in pursuit of happiness, but I wasn't able to find it. Up to a point where I didn't care any more. Then I took the most concious decision of smoking weed, my first time was alone.

Later I got into a deep depression (triggered by withdrawal symptoms). Cause of a youth trauma and many stacked up problems (closet homosexual,..), my withdrawal symptoms were real bad. I couldn't say goodbye to weed. I wanted to be stoned all the time. Reality had nothing to offer when I wasn't stoned. So I tried to smoke all day every day for 4 years (age 17 to 21).

Weed made me look at my problems first. Now I'm happy I have none left(, because of weekly consultations with an awesome therapist, not because of weed).

Weed, for me, was a temporary medicine which I'm ready to say goodbye to, because now I am able to find happiness in my daily life. Happiness now is a bonus of living, not my main pursuit.

my personal experience, and it worked so far.. find a replacement to take in while they are getting high..

Weed itself isn't addictive, but the social aspect that comes with it is, and so is the tobacco you blend with it.

What helped for a friend: he wasnt smoking cig's but he was smoking joints more and more.. at a certain point (he was high from dawn till dusk till dawn) he realised, he actually didn't crave the weed, but the tobacco..
He still smokes joints, doesnt want to stop, but he isnt high whole day anymore :p

What helped for me, I already smoked cigs, so I had to find something else to do.. I have successfully stopped smoking cigs and joints by using Snus, also took some power of will when everyone around you are getting high together.. but it's still working for me while the other times I've failed.

Maybe one more thing, picture how slacky you get when stoned, and the day after.. 'meh let future Adriano handle the problem/task' style.
Picture how much more productive you wouldve been if you werent smoking, and how the rest of your life might look like if you never stopped.. this also rly helped for me :D

Hope this was a contribution, didn't read all previous comments!

I just want to say you couple of things:

First. I totally support you. Anything u want I'll be glad to help.

Second. Just a tip. Marijuana doesn't produce physical addiction, so, is just a psychologycal attachment to the pot. Whatever u feel during your quit attemp (Anxiety, headache, etc.) Just remember that is just your mind playing ticks, and you have the power to choose if u let your mind trick you, or u just override it with your goal  ;)

Cheers bro, U'll do it ;)
