After trying to watch athene and his university of gaming interview on YouTube, I quickly realised it was in Dutch I think, I remember thinking "how impractical is that, pfft". After a bit of self reflection I realised that mabby not everyone spoke English (I KNOW RIGHT). So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a language for me to learn or even if anyone wants to join me in learning another language.

How important do you guys think it is that I learn to read spanish as well as speak it?

learning how to spell a word helps to store the thing in my memory i find... that and using it in a few different contexts + rinsing and repeating :/... commitment's my biggest issue, always has been </3 probably been mentioned a few times already, best thing for learning anything is perseverance imo. so long as there's the motivation / desire to learn, you'd get there eventually right? ^^ or at least most of the way...

(*reads OP*... if you decide on German / French / Japanese, will totally join you <3... probably need to start again with 2 of them :/ NOT like riding a bike, pshpsh)

Esperanto is probably the easiest language to earn, maybe you could try that.

Блядь, Russian has many cool swearing words, you can still change your mind

But seriously I actually could try co-learning of sorts, if you decide to go for Spanish (or whichever), make a challenge, I just might accept it. If there would be even a simblic competition, there would be bigger chances of not dropping learning after a week.

Im worried russian would be a bit to hard for me as im used to the latin alphabet, not the russian one with all those confusing letters

Well I'm Russian originally and emigrated to the  UK when I was 4. The problem was, that I had to relearn Russian to do my GCSE and it was an interesting expierience whe  I had to speak Russian to my Mother every day and on the phone, I learned a lot about the language that I didn't know when  I was a lot younger.

I don't recommend Russian as a language to learn because it is quite difficult to understand and learn (you need to know the culture as well as a dialogue).

Just my one Cent, so to speak.

Andrew why are you learning german... you live in the usa no the eu.... you should be learning spanish mate so you can get down with those hot latino chicks

wil totuhly lern Jermun wit u <3 although i'm not all too sure HOW to learn anything with someone else :|... we'd just like... learn separately, occasionally calling each other names in foreign languages???

i'm in! <3

.... no rly, how do you learn a language WITH someone? :P will have to look into that

chinese u might as well start it now

I've been wanting to learn dutch myself. Honestly because I like the way it sounds. LOL. That and I want to visit Belgium some day. I'm sure spanish would make more practical sense, but idk. Dutch just grabs my attention.
I managed to learn Dutch in about a year, knowing English helps a bit, but the grammar is very different...I'm not a fan of Dutch myself actually :P I learned it cuz I ended up living in the Dutch speaking region of Belgium. It's a bit limited when it comes to expressing things beautifully, can't compare it to Spanish in that sense, Spanish is just wonderful...but yeah, there's also a French speaking region here and a little German speaking region ;) you can choose! <3
Belgiums mostly speak english to my knolage... its quite inpressive how many languages they can actually speak especialy compaired to most english native speakers who wont learn one because there stubbon
