We respect all different beliefs. But I Power may not always be the right place for specific types of discussions. Due to an enormous amount of community feedback, I have now implemented the following guideline:

"7. Content

The focus of Athenism is on self-development in a generally rational and scientific way. Posts which focus on spiritual, New Age or nonsensical and incoherent content may be closed or removed by moderators if they are considered to be out of place. Repeatedly posting such content can result in suspension."

Fact that we want to keep discussions that are specifically religious or spiritual to a minimum has nothing to do with atheism though. It has everything to do with the fact that the internet is full of people who can't stop rambling about those topics and if we open the floodgates to those, this community will quickly become a lot less focused on SDA in the concrete ways that it has been thus far.
An excellent guideline, (so far as my beliefs about guidelines are concerned.)
I can see that many will have trouble with this though, on the basis of what has already been said.
That is, for a mind that accepts its own beliefs as carrying more weight than any forwarded idea,
such guidelines will be seen primarily as a restriction and therefore rejected out of hand.
However, when discussing the particular aspects of a given paradigm it is important
to include such regulations that focus our attention upon the object of our discussion,
namely self-awareness, in the sense that being self aware is being aware of the
principles and processes that are what we are.
Too often we attempt our explanations on the basis of an unknown duality.
So, in one sense we are attempting to define what is unknown to us in the terms
of what is known. But in this endevour when we reach out to some unsubstantiated
claim we have missed the point. Only on the basis of a synchronic causal relationship
will we begin to see the pieces of the puzzle fall into place.
One question remains: Is the world ready to hear the answers that we come up with?
