Hi Orlando {/Claire}. Welcome to I-Power.

Defining exactly what I-Power is... well, there is no easy answer for that; but I'll do my best and try to give you some highlights.  The short answer is that it is a community of people interested in self-development and activism; but both historically, and even at present, the discussions and activity here both have & do cover a very wide variety of subjects.

As briefly explained on our Who & What page, it all started on YouTube back in 2008 with some of Athene's fans there expressing an interest in starting an activist related web site; and since Athene & his Belgian "Crew" have all always been activist-minded themselves, they created this site for those fans and tried to encourage that.  So, in a sense, you could say that I-Power was an initial attempt by Athene and Reese to draw on their YouTube fan-base and to organize an "army of activists".

While the 'Theory of Everything' video that you mentioned is still one of our biggest draws for new membership, it was only one of several different projects that the Belgian Crew has worked on over the years. And, as Lukas pointed out earlier in chat, Athene himself has never really been very active on this particular website; not even from the beginning.

They continue in that same tradition today, though - juggling many different activism-related projects alongside their gaming videos. (The gaming stuff is their "bread & butter".)  In a way, you could say that they are actively demonstrating to us all what I-Power really is.  And so, although you won't see them here most of the time when you log in, they do still believe in what this community stands for, and they have a vested interest in continuing to support it. Without their presence, our personal audience is somewhat small; but a few of us who also believe in that basic idea of personal empowerment do our best to keep things alive and interesting around here; and with your help, we can do that even better!  :-D

Welcome again!  Oh! and I apologize for any confusion regarding my name, as I do change it sometimes for humorous effect... but Shiznit is what most people know me by.

and, we sometimes even indulge in activities with the objective to accomplish "lulz".

Welcome to I-power:)
