Scientific Research & Self-Development Activism
I am just going to share some thoughts i have on these subjects. I feel that discussing helps me see subjects from different angles, so please, feel free to add your thoughts!
The ultimate goal of change, is peace, prosperity and human evolution. I have been thinking a lot, and i have concluded that peace won't happen until the world unites. As long as there is "us" and "Them", we can't have true peace. International relationsships will always be strained.
This is true for economics too. As long as there are several economic systems that "feeds" to diffrents governments, the whole world can't prosper. There is also the fact that in the world today, money is a meens to power. In an ideal world, the government must not be affected by the money of others.
Additionaly, a communistic system won't work. People needs to be rewarded for hard work and good ideas, or else evolution will stop.
And then, we have religion. Religion is still about us and them. Unless the religions can come to an agreement, they will hinder change...
And to the religious people out here; i had a discussion with a person on the chat and he asked me to question this in a thread:
If you believe that god, jesus or other holy instances exists within you, and you also believe that those holy instances will help bring change to the world, does that not directly translate into the fact that you have the potential to help change the world if you just welcome the thought and the work?
People, discuss!

Permalink Reply by Kokomo on February 1, 2012 at 8:22pm Religion I see it as a tool to understand the world. We are all microscopic bacteria and by instinct our only purpose is to survive, and reproduce. Humans have become like cancer on mother earth. A parasite, which kills and destroys all of creation. As we become more complex we find more efficient ways to destroy. Weapons are becoming more and more advanced. Atomic bombs can wipe out entire geographic regions.
Does it all matter?
-Do you want to continue the cycle of destruction, or would you rather find peace with mother earth.
-Do you want to feel empathy and love for creation or do you want to feel paranoia, fear, and psychotic hatred
In the end it doesn't change anything for all things eventually meet their end. Civilizations prosper by change, change, change, but as they get super big, and super complex their inability to look within themselves leads to their own demise.
Only recently people are becoming concerned about nature. Yet 1 man can be just one step of change. Humanity needs to gain that momentum, and it only starts with 1 man.
And therefore change by self-developement.
And again, if there are only us, who will we battle when there are no them?
In a society where money does not rule government, evolution and technologyin ways to live in harmony with nature would be encouraged. Nowadays, welthy corperations tries to undermine the work to end our use of oil and gass. That is another thing that needs to change.
I also agree with your view on religion, the only problem is that there are several of them, and therefor creating the illusion of "us" and "them". - Ultimately the humanity is one!
Permalink Reply by The Shiznit on February 1, 2012 at 8:34pm I agree that a singular "world government" and unified economic system is necessary if we are to ever achieve peace on a global level and end wars and poverty conditions, etc. Much like Gene Roddenberry did in the Star Trek series, most sci-fi writers and visionaries all depict a future where human beings have come together and begun to cooperate on a global scale. And even scientists like Michio Kaku say that this will be required if we ever hope to move beyond this planet to explore or colonize outer space.
So yeah.... one world government... one world economy... one world "religion" or belief system... are all going to be required elements of our future evolution, I think, or else we will most likely bring about our own extinction as a species. The problem comes with what kind of common institutions we might all be able to agree upon. :-)
Humans are wired in a way that makes us happy to help each other, and most of us share the same thoughts on moral ect.. Therefore, finding common ground once a global community has been established won't be all to hard. The problem lies in getting there!

Permalink Reply by Oliver Williams on February 1, 2012 at 9:09pm I agree that the ultimate goal of change is peace, prosperity, and evolution. Those are strong goals to have!
That said, you might want to re-read (or read in general) Marx and his ideas. The main goal of communism is to unite people to work together, as well as be rewarded STRICTLY on their effort.
Marx understood that people need to be rewarded for their work, in fact he stresses it in his book Capital, a very strong critique of capitalism's fundamental flaws. Marx's issue was exploitation of the proletariat, or working class, or just the exploitation of labor.
Right now it seems like u see capitalism as a reward based system, when in reality, any system based on profit is flawed. Just ask yourself, where does the profit come from?
Unpaid Labor!!!
Time that you and I would spend working for absolutely nothing, so that our bosses or our boss' bosses or what have you can make money.
So i think you have a limited understanding on that subject honestly.
On Religion, I agree. Not that I think that belief in a God is wrong. Just keep it to yourself. Don't spread it to your kids, or anyone for that matter, I don't go around telling you what happens when u die! The exception is when someone asks. Belief is beautiful, and should be shared with those who wish to know, and other than that it should stay with you.
Do people really have to bludgen this shit into their kids heads without them asking?!
Kids are so curious as it is, If u really believe in something, I'm sure they'll ask, and if they do, I'm certain at least some of your beliefs will become theirs too.
Thanks for reading. And learn more bout maaaaarrrxxxxx :)
Thanks for your reply, you have several good points who needs to be taken into consideration if we are going to create an idea for a international society.
Also, these are my thoughts, and they are not in any way perfect. I want to discuss them because it is a way for me to develope. :)
Permalink Reply by Captain Morgan on February 2, 2012 at 10:49am Oliver, read up some Adam Smith, or just look at the history of marx's theories, they haven't worked. Any system based of forced fairness in unfair.
Permalink Reply by Oliver Williams on February 2, 2012 at 7:45pm its not forced fairness at all. The USSR and others who claimed to be communists were not true communists anyways, they just used the name. Also I understand the wealth of nations, and so did Marx, in fact that book (Capital) is a direct result from the Wealth of nations, arguing against it, and in effect disproves Smith, using his views on labor, and explaining the problems with his model.
Also Elias, I understand man, I've posted things on here that people have completely bashed, Im saying i agree with u, just not on everything. We're all growing and learning ya know
Permalink Reply by Michael V. on February 3, 2012 at 5:59am IN MY OPINION dear oliver,
You should pass it on to other generations...for example the ten commandments.. are basic forms of morality.... but ofc everyone should know these. you don't even have to be a christian or religious to know this but these forms of morality started with religion.
i think it should definatly be passed on.
Permalink Reply by Oliver Williams on February 3, 2012 at 4:08pm Yeah I agree that the ten commandments aren't bad ideas, but i mean thou shall not kill is kinda universal tho, its not exsactly something that the ten commandments came up with. and neither are the other ones if you look back in history.
You got many instances of other polytheistic cultures coming up with the same stuff, the code of Hammurabi for one had a plethora of ideas on how to stop murder, adultery, rape, and so fourth.
Even still, these are more universal Ideas, and really weren't what i was referring to. I mean don't spread beliefs about things that you could never know, things like why we are here, and what happens when we die.
The ten commandments touch about mortal issues that could be considered visually bad. They are things that we can see with our own eyes to be both evil acts that hurt peoples feelings, or acts that mam them physically.
Just to play devils advocate a bit, How exactly do we know that murder is wrong, I wouldnt want to be killed, but does it make it wrong to actually kill? Or adultery, or theft, who makes those things wrong?
I mean, death is a bit tricky with religion isn't it? why not just have one person kill us all, when a strong religious person will go to a better place either way?
