Hey Ipower!
I've got some free time on my hands, so I thought it might be time to watch some movies.
Since the Ipower community is so intelligent, I thought that it might be a great idea to ask you guys!
I really want to watch some inspirational movies. Movies with a great message, that leaves you with some great thoughts. It doesn't matter if the movie isn't like completely realistic or a little old, as long as the movie has something great to offer.
What movies do you like? What movies do you suggest?
Thanks!

Into the wild, based on the true story of Chris McCandless, guy who after his graduation destroys his credit card, passport and burn his money packs a backpack and hikes to alaska, the movie is about the journey to alaska how he survives without money, the people he meets and the arrival at alaska, loved the movie, reminds u that we have the freedom to just leave the society and do whatever u want.
La vita e bella, Italian movie of a jewish man of joy and beauty, a very romantic story with really good humour but also very sad as it is about how he and his wife and kid get taken by the germans in ww2 and how he decieves his kid by pretending that the war is a game so he doesnt have to understand the horror that is happening around him. This is THE MOST BEAUTIFULL MOVIE EVER.

The Best Inspirational Movies I Have Seen
{also some of the best films ever made}
Gandhi (1982)
Tuesdays with Morrie (1999)
Patch Adams (1998)
Phenomenon (1996)
Meet Joe Black (1998)
Apollo 13 (1995)
JFK (1991)
Dances With Wolves (1990)
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
The Patriot (2000)
Crimson Tide (1995)
The Hunt for Red October (1990)
I think all of the films in my list deal with values and ethics somehow. The ones towards the top deal a lot with establishing personal identity; and almost all of them deal with non-conformity in some way; especially the idea of "doing the right thing" in the face of opposition. A few of them also deal with the realizations and value clarifications that people make when they are faced with death. Once I looked at the list, I also realized that a few of the names of the people involved in making these films appeared more than once; which must be a little bit significant: Stephen Spielberg; Robin Williams; Tom Hanks; Kevin Costner; and Mel Gibson; for example.

The Tao of Steve
and I'm surprised no one mentioned : Revolver (the greatest film ever made since the beginning of time itself). This film is about Ego and how it runs everything in this world by controlling and deceiving us, by hiding the truth.
The premise for this film can be found in Richard Dawkins book : The Selfish Gene (which is not mentioned in the film). The Selfish Gene is also a must read book. It will change the way you look at yourself, others, the world and life itself.
