Creating Your Own "Crew"

Information

Creating Your Own "Crew"

This is a Group for people who are interested in the idea of expanding I-Power by encouraging our members to create I-Power/SDA related cell groups, or "Crews" in their own communities.

Location: Your Community
Members: 28
Latest Activity: on Monday

Introductory Note:

This is a fairly new idea that I and a few other members have been tossing around lately; and none of us are really sure at this point what kind of evolution the idea might take; but we all think that it's a good idea, and we want to continue talking about it.  This Group will {hopefully} help to facilitate further discussion & brainstorming; and we will see what happens as we go along.

If this idea is appealing to you, feel free to join us and to post or participate in the discussions. You don't have to feel obligated to actually start a local Crew of your own just because you join us here.  ;-)

For Reference:

Nicko's original post that inspired the creation of this Group:

And an original I-Power Crew video from 2008 called, "Our Motivation".

The general consensus so far, (and logic,) seems to suggest that this is the best subject for an initial post in this Group -- that is, a thread in which we can all discuss ideas and make…Continue

I'm in this group, even though i won't become part of the crew.
I'll be busy with school, and i'm going to spend my free summertime on a youtube collab. Would love to help creating ideas though.

So I had my "first official" SDA meetup last night. I put "first official" in quotes because I've been trying to organize meetups like this among friends for a long time with varying degrees of success. They often turn into BDA meetups than SDA meetups (Beer Drinking Action! ;) ). This is the first one I've setup with the focus SPECIFICALLY on SDA. The format for the meeting was (and will be) based what I laid on in the post "How to start Pwning Life."I've already put a lot of testing into my system (my roommate has as well), so it's a good place to start from to introduce others into SDA. I'll start a discussion outlining (and updating) how I've running the meetings, but I think the basic format will be:

  1. SDA stuff (review goals, brainstorm, create action plans, etc.)
  2. Fun stuff (board gaming for me, could be video gaming, music making, doing art, watching a movie etc.)

I'm also going to make this a weekly thing.

"Absolutely, I completely agree. The only way to solve the problem is to eliminate the cause. Exactly, the shooter gains worldwide fame over night. Why would a resentful, friendless, lonely, insane young man who wanted to leave an impression on the…"

Lore replied to Lore's discussion Condemning others to validate ourselves.
"Maybe I take empathy and attempting to understand such actions by people to the extreme, but I think it is important to understand the causes of such behavior. You do bring up a good point about school shootings Nathaniel, in that the media makes…"
