Utilizing various concepts such as Permaculture and Local Currency systems, the goal of the Transition Movement is to enable communities to become more economically independent and self-sustainable.

The Transition Movement and I-Power are not connected in any way. Groups on this site are just a way for people to express & talk about their common interests. As for informative links, I just put up the ones that I knew about on the Resource Links Page. There is a lot of stuff out there on the web about the movement because it has been around for a while; so a Google search will get you THOUSANDS of hit results.

Not that clear to me how to "function" as part of a group as such.
What sort of things can be done?
And apart from the posted links where can I read more general information about this movement? In particular I am interested in knowing whether this is something which is based outside of this website - to which this group is simply a small part of - etc.
