G'MORNIN THERE IPOWER (oh yes, Dean- I'm not taking this from you, if you watch all my 90 day challenge videos they started with g'morning Ipower and/or hey there Ipower)

Oh man, where do I start. I haven't been very active here because I've been putting quite the bit of work into school. I've been dishing out papers and working out math problems like no tomorrow. But Chicago was recently cascaded with snow and all my classes were canceled since Tuesday Night- (so…

Posted on June 30, 2010 at 8:58pm 1 Comment

oh hai. this is one of those blogs I said i'd do about awareness.

just some quick ways to stop living on autopilot.

1. Take a walk today, doesn't have to be long. Count how many steps you take to a destination.

on the way back pay attention to the sounds you hear. cars, birds, other people. what are they saying? loud noises, soft noises.

2. when you make yourself lunch, pay attention to how everything comes together. what do you taste? delight in food,… Continue

thing that made me happy!!!

Posted on December 28, 2009 at 8:32pm 1 Comment

well, i took this idea from HeSaid's blog where he challenged us to also think about what makes us happy. So i started to think of what makes me happy... i have a lot of material things.... but those never really came up (other than my pride and joy, my computer [hey, you cherish something that cost you 4.5k US dollars])

But in the end it's not so much THINGS that make me happy but it's how I use the things that make me happy. That feeling i get when i play with my band on stage- and… Continue

I realized that since you are going to make a response video I thought I need to clarify what I wrote in the comment below, since I see now I forgot to mention one important factor:

"Just because you can't truly disprove something as a scientist it doesn't mean it suddenly becomes the truth, especially when it seems extremely unlikely to be true, but unless you have 100% evidence about something you can't dismiss it as an answer. Though as I said it seems extremely unlikely that there is any sort of god..."

Well to make this short, it is getting late here, I think the correct term for scientific people like you and myself is "agnostic atheist". Atheist since, yes, you do not believe in any kind of divinity, but agnostic because you don't claim to know that a deity does not exist.

Anyway I am sorry, I know it is just a matter of silly words. But you for some reason managed to hit me in a very sensitive spots. Since I think it is waaaaay too easy for people to say that they are scientific and therefore atheist, since it sounds cool, but like I said I see it as a contradiction and therefore very uncool to say. So I was merely trying to provoke you to research about it yourself, but now I realize that you might put it in a video, so I just wanted to clear out what I meant and my reason for writing what I did.

atheist and a scientist is a contradiction?
Well the short version goes a bit like this: The definition of a atheist is the rejection of belief in the existence of deities. And a scientist would never reject any possible answers to something he doesn't truly have the answer for, and I am for the sake of this example referring to the creation of the universe. Though scientist seem to be able to over and over again "prove" that the universe didn't need a higher intelligence to be created, they still didn't find "prove" that it wasn't, actually in some crazy way it would make sense if the whole universe was planed out by someone. This just leaves one question though, how did the higher intelligence get created?
