Hey man,

Using your awesome knowledge of economics could you please do a post explaining why monopolies are bad. I've tried to explain this in as simple a way as possible to so many people recently and I'm sick of getting to the point where I feel like saying "you know what fuck it, you're just an idiot" because these people are usually rather intelligent lol. Maybe I'm not explaining it and they're not making the leap from knowing what a monopoly is to why it's bad by reading about what it is on wikipedia etc.

Thanks man, if you don't have time don't feel like you've let me down or any BS, I thought it might be interesting for you to write and other's to read :)

Am i living in a democracy?

Posted on February 24, 2013 at 12:42am 14 Comments

This question might be hard to find an answer to, so i made a checklist, and did a thorough (it's a bit of a stretch of the word) analysis of my environment, and the state. I did this to see, if the people that's been making the laws, can be said to be true representations of the people.

  • Does the taxation law reflect the average Lars (since this is Norway, i'll swap Joe with Lars)? Check. It's ok to put taxation on income, but stay away from my property. Rich people like to…

Weekly challenge pt. 4 and "Das Kapital"

Posted on January 28, 2013 at 4:55pm 0 Comments

my last weeks challenge was to read Karl Marx' - Das Kapital. Which i did, two hours on overtime, but that's close enough. I'll make a small summary here.

The main thing he talked about, was how the capitalists made a profit by having the workers work "for free". By this he means that per example, a weaver have to work for six hours to make enough produce to cover the price of her own salary. Then the capitalists profit comes from the hours the weaver work beyond those six…

Weekly Challence pt. 3

Posted on January 20, 2013 at 2:44am 1 Comment

Before new years, i solemnly swore to read faster than 500 words per minute. I did do this, and it has been the sparkle of a little revolution of habits. I've been chewing up newspaper like sweetrolls, and it feels great.

For next week, i'm gonna combine the speed reading, with two other interests, economics, and dead, bearded economists. So i'm going to pwn through the thousand pages of Karl Marx' "Das Kapital" from here to next sunday. I'm even going to remember some of it.

Christmas for Christians

Posted on December 19, 2012 at 4:49am 1 Comment

As Christmas now is over us, there also follows in it`s wake the Christians claiming some sort of copyright on Christmas. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus and that is what you should tell yourselves and your children when they ask why we celebrate now.

If you are one of those, you may shove it up... somewhere.

Getting sort of tired of hearing these whiners. Our national television broadcaster decided this year that the TV-calendar would not show religious…

weekly challenge pt. 2

Posted on December 17, 2012 at 3:15pm 0 Comments

new week, new challenges.

Last weeks challenges was to cut down on cigarettes and coffee. Got cigarettes below ten per day, and coffee from an awe inspiring about two liters on average to something more like two cups.

this week i`ll get back to my speed reading again. I did focus on it heavily earlier this year for a week. But since then i`ve only been maintaining, not really improving, so i`ll do something about that. For now i`m reading around 350 words per minute. Gonna try…
