I’ve met a lot of people with good intentions in the last several years. These were smart, well-meaning, and generally evolved people. They were thinkers, and they thought a lot. Something thinkers like to do is talk. They talk with other thinkers, and exchange more data to think about. They pick apart every detail of something and find every possible fault or weakness in an idea, and they tweak the original idea again and again attempting to reach perfection.

Sometimes I really want to kick my own rear-end. I have a lot of character flaws that give me a great deal of grief and I have lost a lot of friends over them. I have been defined by my flaws instead of my qualities for a long time. The real question is what am I going to do about it?

I've always been a bit of a pessimist. In fact it has caused me a good deal of grief over the years. One of the primary weaknesses of a pessimist in my opinion is that we tend to defeat ourselves before we even begin something.
