In response to your request on the Philosophers group, you can find a few documenatires on youtube, I'm sure.
I looked myself quickly to find any that would appear of interest but didn't.
Although I'm sure a less lazy search should be more fruitful, as I've watched many that are lost amongst my countless favorites.
However if you are looking for some enlightenment I must recommend these two people and their videos: Qualiasoup - who has currently stopped uploading out of disgust with youtube's irrational behavior against certain users, and TheraminTrees who has very creative, and enlightening videos as well. =]
Your skins gotta be pretty tough to handle some of the misguided attention that will come your way with having dreads, I wouldn't worry too much about that just yet. I would like to ask you a question though.. why do you want dreadlocks..
