    I need your help to win this contest for my best friend!

    I totally swear I'll make an effort to be more consistent around here, but I've been busy with other projects and work, so I've just been really scarce everywhere. Anyway, I've just entered into a contest to win a fancy schmancy ocarina for a musician friend who needs more instruments in her repertoire.  An ocarina, if you aren't familiar, is a musical instrument in the vessel flute family, and has been made famous in the Legend of Zelda series.  I just need your help to win it for her, so that…See More

    About Me:
    I honestly could have sworn I joined up when they announced this site, but I guess they had no record of my email after all? ^^;

    I am a martial artist and general student of life, there is nothing that I would find boring or dull to learn, so I'm constantly learning. I've been fascinated with languages ever since I was dropped into environments where nobody spoke the same language as anyone else, so I figure if I learn ever language out there, I wouldn't be as lost again.
    Favorite music:
    Oingo boingo! I enjoy various synthesizers and independent artists. The Magnetic Fields is among my top favorites, as are many of Stephen Merritt's bands. Then I've also got strong likings for: The Cure, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, The Psychedelic Furs, Love Spit Love, Erasure, Daft Punk, Nightwish, various 8bit artists like nullsleep. I won't say that I like a little bit of everything, because that's the worst cop out answer ever, and nobody can possibly like "all kinds of music," Unless they do in fact enjoy Christian AND hate music at the same time. :P Neither of which I like at all...
    Favorite movies:
    I like good movies, not crappy movies. Logan's Run is a good movie. Will Ferrell movies are not...
    Favorite books:
    Anthropology and language texts. Guns, Germs and Steel was good. Frankenstein is a favorite. John Steakley books are pretty freaking sweet (especially Armor). Vampirre Hunter D... I do read lots of manga and comics, but I don't believe you should hold that against anybody... <.< Can't rightly conjure what else I enjoyed reading at the moment, because they're all packed away in boxes still.
    Goals/Projects/Aspirations:
    Oh... There is a section for that... /copy-paste. ^^; I'd just put it in the "About me" section before.

    I enjoy teaching, my greatest aspiration is to teach the martial arts and carry on the mindsets and philosophies associated with them. I also aim to bring an end to unhealthy stereotypes in various subcultures, such as the 'fat smelly otaku' that people envision anime nerds to be (because I honestly see too many of them). My other goals are mostly to carry on knowledge and give young people something constructive to do. I'm nowhere near completing any of these goals, but I'm still training myself to make it there. ^^;

    Yeah my big brother was actually in the army too. He advanced really quick and I think I'm ready for it when it comes. But who knows you know, maybe it's just my calling to get in really good shape. He got out of the army and all we do is train together. It's hard to say either way, but getting is the best health I could ever be in definetly feels good. it's nice to have a goal you know? Funny thing I was in OP today to get a check for my other older brother!

    Nice to meet you Optimus!

    Yeah I have a lot of things that I'm looking into. I haven't solidified any plans yet. I am doing that sit-up push-up challenge thing but it's a little easy. I work out my abs everyday about 3 times a day.

    IDK, I'm not too worried about the Army, I'm not really interested in college and I want to see some other parts of the world before I hunker down and get some job.

    Thanks for responding to my blog!

    I finally got my favorite singer to sing on youtube!

    Posted on February 8, 2010 at 11:30pm 1 Comment

    That's the good news. The bad news is that she's not everyone's favorite singer because she hasn't broken out of the underground yet, so I thought ipower could help her with her life's dream of singing opera at the Met and make opera new again. She's been singing and performing since she was four years of age, and all her experience combined with her natural talent causes her singing to surpass most of the opera scene today. If enough people rate and comment on her video, she would be… Continue

    New Year's Resolution

    Posted on January 5, 2010 at 3:25am 0 Comments

    My new year's resolution was to get my parents to work out more since they're unhealthily overweight. I hadn't thought about it when I made it, but my resolution was odd for some reason, and it took me a while before it made more sense. My resolution had nothing to do with me. I don't really understand why we're taught that such things must be selfish by everyone around us, because I don't believe that people are inherently selfish like that. Extending my parent's life could bring me some… Continue

    How one can measure time.

    Posted on December 17, 2009 at 11:35am 5 Comments

    I could not sleep, and usually when my joints don't bug me I work out to get myself out of that dwelling mood keeping me awake. Sometimes I wake the others in the process, so that's why I'm back on the computer again. :/ That's not why I'm blogging though, I just realized something about myself in the process of being interrupted. I measure time through music. I tend to do things in intervals of albums, or portions of albums, and that seems to make up for my lack of round counter or… Continue

    Who's up for some gaming?

    Posted on October 24, 2009 at 5:39pm 3 Comments

    I just got my DS lite working with my wifi again (took some tooling around and an adapter that I have to jiggle every now and then), so I suppose I should use this as an opportunity to socialize with my fellow ipower rangers. What? Games are totally social, especially when you play with other people! I haven't got many games, so I'm just going to lay them all out and you can add me when you leave your friend code in the comments. I'll try to get on when you guys call me out, but generally I… Continue
