Will Hope replied to Bogdan Stefan R's discussion A definition for God
"thanks for your reply.  I don't mind considering the possibility of there being a "why" to all of this.  But even if there is, discarding the old concept of "god" would be helpful.  I liken it to a realization…"

Will Hope replied to Tim Young's discussion Opinion Versus Truth

Will Hope replied to Bart's discussion Welfare for everyone?
"Since I get paid already, I wouldn't want to clean your toilet now.  You'd have to pay More than you previously had in order to make me want to do it.  Thus, you'll offer more money.  But maybe i'll stop cleaning…"

Will Hope replied to Rich's discussion The price of happiness?
"money doesn't bring happiness, but if you're a wise and happy person, it could very efficiently bring happiness to you, those around you, and the world."

Will Hope replied to Bart's discussion Welfare for everyone?
"There would be no incentive to do menial tedious jobs just as there is none right now, unlessthe pay is fair.  I wouldn't mind cleaning your toilet everyday if you paid me enough.  Perhaps the supply and demand of jobs and wages will…"

Will Hope replied to Tim Young's discussion Opinion Versus Truth
"what is truth.  When something is true, let's say an argument, we mean that the argument contains a claim which we can then verify.  If the claim equals the observation or calculation, like your mom says "Our house burnt…"

Will Hope replied to Anna's discussion What we work for?Work for cash, live,or joy?

tl;dr version of 'God is in The Neurons'

"you're dealing with identity on the semantic level.  It's the nature of how something is and isn't something depending on their location on the map.  "Identity" is an idea, a package; its contents have labels based…"

Will Hope replied to Bogdan Stefan R's discussion A definition for God

Will Hope replied to Bogdan Stefan R's discussion A definition for God

About Me:
About Me? I'm you, right? Sometimes.
I'm trying to be right more often, but that also involves dancing around and shedding old models of "right" and "wrong" that we have left unquestioned.
Finally, it's your right to copy whatever I write because it's copy left and I enjoy re-mixing leftover meals as much as I enjoy listening to remixed sounds and ideas. Hopefully my play on words will get better right as soon as I center in on the bigger picture, hone in on that image of the cat that we theoretically tossed into the black hole, the one that is perpetually stuck to the center of my computer desktop, I wonder how the cat is doing, and what's left of him. Curiosity prevents me from looking away.

It seems rather that curiosity extended the lifetime of the cat. this cool cat. This new generation of vapid brain vats growing together in a giant tube, i mean flat screen, i mean ipod, no - i mean ipad, no wait - the New ipad, my portal into a large pool of information and communication, my iZombifyMeMachine, my New Consciousness, my means to truth, complete with its own open cesspool of entertaining waste. Yum.

full circle, we've come to tie together the unifying ends of science with the suspicious ends of the mystics and we now nod together, acknowledging the oneness of things.  We must comb through what we've mastered and pull back to understand the significance of all these separate seeming things within the nutshell of our grand self.

Nathaniel Mortazavi replied to Lore's discussion Condemning others to validate ourselves.

Nathaniel Mortazavi replied to Lore's discussion Condemning others to validate ourselves.
