Privacy?

After being away for a while I have returned and after all the recent privacy issues in the US I found a project on Indiegogo that I certainly plan on supporting. I know Reese reads these so Reese this is a plea to you and the rest of the community I know you are busy raising the 1 million for Save the Children, but this is a good project to possibly help support. In a nutshell this guy who has been fighting for privacy rights wants to start his own provider that will provide an internet…

Dealing with Anger...

Lately, I've been feeling like I've been through a rollercoaster of emotion. In other words, I've been feeling emotionally strained. Maybe it's how I think too much about things. I don't know source of these emotions that I feel. So I decided to keep track of the emotions I feel on a daily basis. I would feel a little bit of joy and sometimes sadness, which are dominated by anxiousness. A majority of them fall under Anger: irritation, bitterness, frustration.

 Anger is tiring.…

Hello

So here we are.  I haven't written on here for quite sometime.  I don't know why really; Maybe laziness. It's weird reading through my old blogs and bringing back such memories.  So much has happened since then.  Strange thing about it though I went in the opposite direction in which I was trying so hard to go.  Well, looks like I have to start again.  Maybe this is what we are supposed to do?  Who knows.

Let the path of life continue.

African Aid - Helpful or Harmful?

I stumbled across this Al-Jazeera page recently -

http://stream.aljazeera.com/story/african-aid-helpful-or-hazardous-0022175

which posed the question of whether foreign aid is really helping the people in Africa, or hurting them.

The page includes a lot of information and related videos, the Headliner of them all being the recording of a…

Why the military?

Okay, this blog post will be a response to SparTom007's comment on my introduction post. Here is the comment for a point of reference.

"Welcome to the site :)

Why do you want to join the navy? Military institutions are one of the main reasons modern society is broken. I understand the whole idea of fighting for your country, but why is your country really fighting? The war on terror is a myth and it's used as an excuse to restrict human rights of the public. If you want to…

Introduction, Goals, what not.

Wow, I haven't been to this website in awhile. It's certainly come along nicely. Hopefully the community is still here, /fingerscrossed.

Well...obviously my name is Zach Thomas. I recently resolved myself to some self-development and in the midst of brainstorming, Ipower resurfaced from my memories. I'm an extremely intellectual person but lately I've realized how much my habits, my lifestyle is holding me back from reaching some serious potential. Some things I do that I…

Student : Yes, sir.

Professor: So, you believe in GOD ?

Student : Absolutely, sir.

Professor : Is GOD good ?

Student : Sure.

Professor: Is GOD all powerful ?

Student : Yes.

Words of Carl Jung.

Just as we tend to assume that the world is as we see it, we naively suppose that people are as we imagine them to be. In this latter case, unfortunately, there is no scientific test that would prove the discrepancy between perception and reality. Although the possibility of gross deception is infinitely greater here than in our perception of the physical world, we still go on naively projecting our own psychology into our fellow human beings. In this way everyone…

Ranty blog :D

ey guys,

The ineptitude of today's higher education has plagued myself, my friends, many people I don't even know in the UK and, more significantly to this post, my girlfriend, since the days we came of age and qualification to apply. The amount of complaints and, what I consider to be constructive, criticism warrants an entire post on the subject but here I would just like to inform you of recent events concerning this. My girlfriend has been accepted to University of…

Poem

First poem:

Ohh, my blissful divine

upon me you'll shine

for ever and ever

and it doesn't matter

whether my life's shining bright

and filled with thy delight

or going though pain

from which I will gain

knowledge 'bout the rules of thy game

As my desires dissolve

the states of mind revolve

drenched with thy ever-new joy

My Ego - I'll forever destroy

to become free within

an be what I've eternally been

one with…

Does concern go anywhere?

Hello iPower,

This week I played guitar at the Royal Albert Hall. I was in a band accompanying one of my mum’s choirs. It was pretty cool; honestly Queen Vic did a really good job. I’m pretty proud of my mum, and I’m very grateful she gave me the opportunity to put something like that on my CV.

However, I’ve been deeply concerned with a friend of mine, which has been distracting me for the most part of this week. This person is someone who I have considered to…

Words of Jason Silva.

"We live in a society in which spurious realities are constructed by the media, by governments and by big corporations. We are bombarded with pseudo realities fabricated by very sophisticated people using very sophisticated mechanisms. Perhaps for many designers irony is the only possible response to a media space where it’s impossible to distinguish reality from manipulation. Yet the imaginary foundation is future-focused, and always has been, so we’re exploring what comes after we push…

Words from the wise!

Our society is founded on a very limited definition of power, namely wealth, professional success, fame, physical strength, military might, and political control. My dear friends, I suggest that there is another kind of power, a greater power: the power to be happy right in the present moment, free from addiction, fear, despair, discrimination, anger, and ignorance. This power is the birthright of every human being, whether celebrated or unknown, rich or poor, strong or weak.”

~ Thich…

I have not blogged in a while.

Hello iPower, how are you today?

I've been a bit busy finishing my Creative Writing degree in the past few months, and while I should have continued with my blog about my randomly constructed thoughts, I did not. I deeply regret failing to keep up with my work plus the small dedication to extra-curricular writing I gave for myself. In an attempt to pull myself out of a somewhat chi-nosedive I have come here to riff some thoughts about stuff bothing…
