Magic in my fingers.

Back again, I return to this blog to clear my head. It's been interesting reading my posts from a year ago. This time I can say that much has changed and much has remain unchanged. Perhaps this is what she meant when she told me that I haven't changed. It bothers me those words. I feel i'm making progress yet nobody seems to see it.

I've made the wrong decision to play down my ego so intensely. It was a mistake to undervalue myself and create such a lack of surety within…

Who We Are...Past, Present, and Future

The question of who we are is one that has troubled the human race for most of its history. It is a very deep and interesting question to try and answer. Many people turn to religion for that answer, that the core of our being is an inner "soul" that was given to us by some benevolent creator. They believe that our consciousness goes beyond our physical being. I will try to answer this question in a different way starting from a biological standpoint.

Our consciousness,…

My Opinions about New Age stuffs

Note: The comments below were originally part of a Discussion thread that I posted in the site's forums, but which I decided were no longer appropriate there as I had originally intended. This post will serve to effectively replace that one, and will simply describe my personal views on the subject without encouraging any debate about it.  ;-)

Of course, a lot of you already know how I feel about…

More in a pragmatic vain.... (pun intended)

People, events and ideas. People are obviously the foundation...

and the bottom of the food chain.

It's like time pressure and temperature in chemistry, right? Man being

'muscle, hustle brains' as another example. Necessary, sufficient, conditions.

Your average three-way.

So in the politics (I've got PAGES of analysis…

Hi, I'm John

Yeah, I never really did an introduction as I just tend to like jumping in and consider myself not very worth talking about. Sooo...hey, I'm going to make an entry...where I talk about myself! Aha! That's a classic. Anyway, I'm John. You can call me FIDo or FIDs or whatever. My screen name is fireicedeath and since then people have been trying to shorten it and FIDo has sort of stuck with me.

I'm the guy no one ever really talked to in school and that's sort of clung to me…

Project Prophecy

This past weekend Harold Camping's bullshit doomsday prediction did not come true--what did happen was a lot of Atheists held parties and the 'countdown to backpedaling'. Yesterday I was marathon watching 'Is It Real?' on Netflix and the guy on the Doomsday Prophecy episode gave me an idea: he said that if you want to be a doomsday prophet then write a lot. Also focus on the negative. "By golly," I thought, "I'll do just that!"Just as a joke.

So, for a year I will write three…

Tell me what to sacrifice..

".. so there's a chance for me to want you."

There is a sorta colloquial saying in Chinese, 东西是死的,人是活的 (loosely translated as 'things are dead, but people are living', meant to usually point out that things cannot change themselves, but humans can change things). Maybe that's why its easier to let people down then to fail in doing some things. Because people are living creatures, they have emotions. You can appeal to them, ask for understanding, ask for concessions to be…

Latest Design

Ahem...okay, so I'm a graphic designer; or I'm going to be once I find an internship. Okay, I'm a graphic designer. I design. I use text and whatnot. Anyway, I've been suffering through a creative drought without ideas but recently I had the idea to do a bauhaus-type design. Grungy though, because...well...that's just me. I do equally well with clean stuff though I love the grit of texture. Okay. So here's the design:

What I'm doing right now & What I've learned

Chiren and I are always working full-force like maniacs on whatever it is that our many discussions and and world domination scheming brings up as efficient ways to change the world. Sometimes to the frustration of our girlfriends, this is kind of our 'reason for living' in the sense that we rarely even do anything to just unwind or 'for fun'. Everything we do, from AtheneWins to the University of Gaming is part of a plan that not always everyone agrees with or understands to the full extent…

On the Topic of Grades and School Pressure

Like the majority of the youth in the United States, I'm in school. High school to be specific. Now for those of you who are in school now, or were in school in the past (which is probably the majority of you), you know what to think of when you see the topic of this post. Grades. GPA. We all hear about it constantly, about how important it is that a student keeps a high GPA. That if his/her grades slip, that if his/her test scores are not where they need to be, they will not get into a good…

What Is This?

I’m beginning to think that this is a mental disorder that I have. Maybe fear of commitment? Let’s run it down so it can seem very crazy. Okay, when I’m attracted to a female I’m really, really into her. But as I get to know her I begin to find things I do not like like her constant complaining about a job she only works part-time with. That kind of stuff. Or maybe how she spells a word. Yes, it’s a stupid thing to hate someone over but it goes more like this, “I thought she was smart. She…

Change habits and beliefs with ease

In my most recent SDA Vlog I talk about how insanely powerful it is to write things down and one of the things I mentioned that is required to really make that into a life-changing routine is to make sure that part of what you write about is what are the things that are so great about the goals you're working towards and what's so bad about not achieving those goals.

I try to keep my vlogs really short, powerful and condensed so I didn't really go in-depth… Continue

People casting judgement based on belief.

Hey, everyone. It's been awhile since I've posted a blog but I usually just post my thoughts on the fly whenever they come up. So, today's topic is why it annoys me living on the bible belt.

Definition of Bible Belt - The term Bible Belt is used informally by journalists and by its detractors, who suggest that religious people allow religion to influence politics, science, and education.

This in fact is not what I mean by Bible Belt. Where I live…

Near Death Realizations

Found this short TED talk today and found it very inspiring. I've had a near death experience myself, and what the guy says really touched a chord with me.

"TED Talks Ric Elias had a front-row seat on Flight 1549, the plane that crash-landed in the Hudson River in New York in January 2009. What went through his mind as the doomed plane went down? At TED, he tells his story publicly for the first…

Tips & Motivational guide: "Re-shaping self & importance of awareness"

The below I found useful to know, to make the first step in actual self-development and to continue improving myself with pleasure and comfort, treating it as a deep, pro-active, personal hobby for the time being, rather than something for later. I'm writing this not to make you confused or demotivated with the amount of work you have to do if you are set on manually shaping yourself, but to shed light in some of its darkest corners. It doesn't mean you need to take all…
