I am not a professional film maker, hell, I'm not a "professional" in any field really; but if there is one thing the internet should teach people, it's that you can learn and become anything online if you put the effort in.

What I'm doing now:

At the moment, as you may or may not know (I probably use that phrase more than anyone should, as you may or may not know), I am producing a documentary about operation sharecraft and it's success. I feel like when I tell people of this, they see it as one of two things: a way for me to plug my own website and youtube channels (to gain ad revenue) or something that will just be a fan video and nothing significant. For the former to be true, I would have to be a youtube partner and have adverts on my website, both of which I do not, and if the documentary is good enough that people should look at my channel and enjoy my content, I don't see the problem. As for the latter, the only way in which the film's impact will be insignificant is if it does not gain an audience. I feel like if I make the video of high enough quality, the crew will support me by sharing it, as they are already being amazingly supportive by providing me with materials for the film (I have requested and been given audio clips I wanted!). I would even go so far as to tell the crew to rip the film from my own channel and upload it on there own channel where they will get all the views, because as I said before, it's not about money for me.

What it's about for me:

I guess in a way, I would be plugging myself, although, by plugging my site which supports charity, I don't see how it's being completely selfish. I am also learning to edit, learning for myself how to make it in life. I've learned so much but not been able to apply it. I just want to support something good and make a difference, a positive impact on the world. I don't want to be famous for my ideas but I want my ideas to be famous. I guess in some ways, my ideas are just my interpretations of a lot of ideas that already exist so they are already famous. I just want people to understand why it is I do what I do, from this film in a way too.

The film:

I don't want to spoil it so I won't be using excerpts from the real scripts or detailing too much the scenes I'll be putting in the documentary.

So in the beginning, I want to outline the problems, the reasons why sharecraft was created then I want to use these to explain why sharecraft was made, what the meaning of it being "an experiement" is and the impact it hopes to have which we might only tell in time.

I see it as addressing how we as a society are coming to terms with the fact that poverty is unnecessary in today's world, kony was good because it brought attention to the fact that some charities operate in a way that sustains themselves, not the people they are supposed to be helping and as much as legislators nowadays are trying to shut it down and control it, the internet is a free place where great things are possible.

I will address how this is another example of the internet proving it doesn't need to be overseen by governments as proposed because it does great things that might not have been possible with certain bills passing. I will try to show how gamers have been demonised by mainstream media even though gaming is becoming increasingly mainstream and this is a good example to dispel the myths that gamers are lazy and don't care about the real world.

I will also tell the story of how sharecraft played out (not including much of the game playing and livestream kinda stuff, just the progress) including the razer sponsorship and hunger strike.

I want to keep the documentary as short as possible (I feel like 30 minutes maximum is best because youtube viewers have low attention spans haha). I may do a short bit about Athene and his rise and why he is famous and his background and evidence of him caring for the world through previous stunts like supporting net neutrality being against suicide etc if I feel it would add something to the documentary that was worth watching and not just filler or not relevant enough.

Sorry this is probably the worst written blog post I have done but my brain is fried from working continuously for so long (I took a break to write this blog before I have a real break, I'll check all the quality of the work I did while I was tired before continuing tomorrow/later today).

Let me know what you think or if you have any ideas or want to collaborate with me on this. I've still not decided on the music for the documentary so if anyone wants the chance to have their music as part of the soundtrack feel free to send me some. If you have ideas of what music to use that isn't yours, get permission first or make sure it is creative commons licensed and tell me which version please :) This will definitely be an ad free video as I am using content from the AtheneWins channel (with permission ofc) as well as some news sites like Al Jazeera, RT, BBC and maybe more.

Thanks for reading

again, sorry for my shitty writing today and lack of blog posts in ages

also, I wrote an article on my website about when I went to see the Dalai Lama and Russell Brand last weekend!
