Hey there Ipower-Rangers!
I want to ask you for a favor! Basically 5 seconds of your time to vote for
on this website:
If you feel really generous, please tell your friends about it. :)
(It's a contest about the best fanmade, selfdrawn Hearthstone Cards. Hearthstone Beta Keys for the top 5.)
When this contest first started the rules said:
So, Leila and I started drawing cards and sent them to them. We were told that the jury would select the BEST cards and show them on the stream, where 2 others would help voting the winners. When the stream finally went online... I could not really believe what I saw. I took hours to create a card. Leila did too. But the cards they showed were... well... I don't wanna be harsh, but they were TOTAL crap. (Example) And our cards? Vanished. They were never even seen on the stream, like many other good cards.
Then they announced the 5 winners. 4 of the 5 winning cards did NOT fit the rules of the contest. All of them contained stolen artwork or even screenshots from the game, and one card was completely stolen from a similar contest. Still, they got the prize.
We were more than just upset. I was angry. Not because I lost, but because of the way I lost. It was completely random, unfair, and not like the contest was announced. So we complained on the official Blizzard forums. There were some people who initially understood why we were angry, and many others that called us 'whining losers who are just sore because they lost'. They said: "Complaining wont change ANYTHING! It already happened! Can't be undone! You lost, get over it!"
It was not about winning or losing, it was about people who spent a lot of time to have a fair chance and were completely fooled and ignored.
The guy who made the contest joined the discussion, and we discussed for a LONG time. And suddenly he told us: We will do the contest again, with better rules and a fair jury! Blizzard just sent me 5 additional keys to correct this mistake!
And suddenly all the people who called us jerks were silent. And all the others who got ignored in the first contest suddenly spoke up. They didn't dare to say anything before that, but as soon as they realized that only TWO people complaining CHANGED the whole thing, then they joined in.
And now, there's a second contest. And for the second contest I need your help. :) Because in the age of social media creating good work just isn't enough. Sadly. It depends on how many people back you up and help you.
So, IPower, it'd be absolutely great if you could help a me and Leila. After all that fighting for a fair contest it would be really.. disappointing to lose. Still, I want the best artworks to win. Not the ones with the most friends. If you think our art is crap, don't vote. Really. But if you like it, please help us win a Hearthstone Beta Key. :)
