Intentions, Actions, and Activism
I’ve met a lot of people with good intentions in the last several years. These were smart, well-meaning, and generally evolved people. They were thinkers, and they thought a lot. Something thinkers like to do is talk. They talk with other thinkers, and exchange more data to think about. They pick apart every detail of something and find every possible fault or weakness in an idea, and they tweak the original idea again and again attempting to reach perfection.
This quest for absolute truth in everything is an admirable trait on the surface of things. These are the type of people who make brilliant scientists, researchers, etc. I’ve always admired this about some of my friends, and envied them at times for their ability to organize large amounts of detail and see flaws in logic so esoteric and removed from the big picture that others would never notice until it caused an immediate issue.
To some degree I do tend to pick things apart, and always will. It’s in my nature, my personality, and the very core of who I am. What I am learning however is that those who pound every grain of something and continuously find flaws are not always to be envied. While their ways lead to greater and greater knowledge of a topic, it tends to be rather slow getting anything physically done. This is a problem when these people attempt to work in activism as leaders, since people have to be fed a constant barrage of entertainment, emotion, and feedback in order to keep them engaged.
Moving slowly will not be noticed by the general population, who have fed from the mass media so long that they’ve all developed ADD. In order to reach these people, and wake them from their consumer coma, something drastic must be done to shake them. Activism in this age means forcing people to wake up and listen, and gripping their hearts so that they have motivation to stick it through.
Remember… more people have been moved by sudden heroic charges into battle, than by any well strategized war won.

This weekend I do my first charity event that I made by myself, I have a legal permit to ask for donations in public, I attribute having the confidence to do something like this to ipower.
Another thing I've not touched on cos I was gonna mention it in my first ipower vlog was how I credit the athene stuff with helping me find direction. When I first made my site I knew I wanted to help people by just making stuff and giving money to charity, I found stuff like TZM and then moved on to thinking that I couldn't reach people who wanted to help change the world into a better place by making gaming related content. I focused on a TZM style approach and it didn't work and honestly got me a bit down. With sharecraft and athene's stuff with charity work I realised that maybe I can still do what I love and help others. Helping people is the only thing I want to do because I always feel best when helping others (and I'll explain that in the ipower vlog)
I'm gonna be making more charity stuff and gaming stuff and bringing it all back to ipower by relating it to SDA :D I suppose this was my heroic change xD

I'm one of those people you mentioned in the 2nd paragraph. And yeah, people do love to be entertained. Even myself. I remember watching that movie Troy (2004) with Brad Pitt and enjoying it; and it moved me to look for a documentary on the subject... which might sound great on the surface, and I did find a couple... but they were so boring to watch that I never finished them. hehe
I did watch the Hollywood version with all the action twice, though. :-D

PR is kinda related so I enjoyed reading up on that
I would say society really needs to change at the core. But, you need to know in order to teach. So that's where self-development and exploring lots of things comes into it, for me. I want to make a difference, but I respect that that's impossible without a plan.
Eventually there will come a point where we/someone knows how to change society for the better, and by then the means to 'hit them hard and hit them good' with this panicked, positive message or whatever it is.. will be well known.
So that's why, in our time, I think learning about the human condition, and reality, is very important. Also recording life as it is now.. it will be cool to have for the future.
