Hello dear Reader!

I am thankful for all encouragement I have been given. Your awesomeness is indescribable! This post will be focused upon current global events in Europe, which have passed my mind since last time I wrote to you. I am of course speaking of the Julian Assuage situation; this is a very interesting global phenomenon. And I feel privileged to be able to view it, both with a Swedish angel, and as well, being able to observe the international discussion. In Sweden we essentially have two camps within media, one is more influenced by Aljazeera for example; in so far that they try doing a summary of the actual events, the reason for this being possible is probably because the sources are accessible, and therefore easy to verify without much resources.

Then we have the analysis made by some traditional media in Sweden, with the core conclusion is that even if Julian Assuage and Wikileaks have done much for Journalism, and the right to know about corruption and power misuse. His current speech at the Ecuadorian embassy in United Kingdom gives the sense, that he in fact, has gone mad. They depict his supports as anti-feminist people, who have stopped talking about electric allergy, too instead focus upon talking about the in their view equally delusional and false idea that USA would want to, or even could extradite him for a death penalty.

Now there is some truth to this from both sides. Sweden is obliged to extradite people who are in Sweden to USA for criminal offenses, but there are some conditions. That don’t make it a straight forward thing to assume (especially in regard to a death penalty), exactly how the laws framework is in Sweden regarding this issue can be found here. There is also however the agreements themselves between USA and Sweden, they can be found here (US – Sweden Extradition Treaty – 14 U.S.T. 1845) and here (US – Sweden Extradition Supplementary Treaty – 35 U.S.T. 2501). Make up your own conclusions, I would be delighted to hear your thoughts on this!

Now too the accusations made by a subgroup of Swedish media that Mr Assuage should have gone mad, is an interesting accusation, it is indeed the case that he acts in a refreshingly proactive way. Now maybe they are right, maybe he should indeed be acting more normal, as in reactive, and maybe even accusing people that don't make the situation better for him in the long run. I bet the press in Sweden, and probably press all over the world would love this scenario.

Update: Here is the full talk, with Assange and others (44 minutes long).

I think this post would be better as an discussion than a blog, discussion`s have better options for...discussions:)

I think Sweden, and all countries for that sake, should stop extraditing prisoners to USA until they get their prisons a bit more humane.

Assange`s crime was to tell the truth. He isn`t even the guy who leaked all those documents, he published them. Talking about truth, it show`s a lack of respect to the public when someone must meet trial for telling people things they should know.

On the brighter side; The huge efforts that USA is making gives credibility to what he has published.

Unfortunately, my aim is to make blog posts. I think that I have to much personal reflections for it to be I real good discussion tread. An interesting idea, this would ofc mean that Sweden can't demand to get people in USA extradited to Sweden ether. None is in disagreement in Sweden that his organisation is bad, there is a kind of consensus on this point that Wikileaks is great.

The problem most people in Sweden have is indeed not with Wikileaks but with Assanges actions as a person.

Condemning others to validate ourselves.

I'd like to discuss something that bothers me about people, how often times people condemn others for doing something wrong all the while ignoring their own transgressions. I'm going to use an extreme example of school shooters. Society condemns…See More
