Since I'm getting hammered with questions every day, here are some answers for all of you whom have been wondering but have not poked me personally about it:

Release date

I'm currently not making any predictions. Every time that things have been moving forward fast, we've gotten too excited and made promises that we haven't been able to live up to in terms of a release window. That being said, all except for one of the delays have been caused by evolutions in Chiren's writing and research. However, I'm very happy to report that this is now long done. All writing and research has been wrapped up for this documentary more than a month ago and at the moment the process is just me working hard on the documentary every day, just trying to get the video done.

Just to be clear: there's about 20-15 minutes of visuals and sound that still has to be made and I'm working very hard on this. Every day I'm making 20-120 seconds of progress (see how hard it is to make predictions? :D) and it's great to be in a flow where, after about one full year of working on it, I'm actually seeing it take the shape of the final product a bit more every single day. While I've been known to be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to motion graphics and such, this documentary is not a fancy promo video as that SDA intro was. What I mean by that is: the content is so new, so strong and so inspiring that I feel it does not need a crazy amount of polish. I'm much more dedicated to getting it done and making sure you guys don't have to wait one single day longer than necessary.

Quantum mechanics? Neuroscience? Self-development? Hm?

I get questions every day about how the quantum mechanics stuff relates to the neuroscience, what relativity has to do with it and how it all somehow relates to self-development. I understand this seems confusing and there are some misunderstandings about this.

Let me tell you what the documentary is not:

  • it isn't a mystical approach to quantum physics
  • it is not comparable to The Secret
  • it is not very similar to What The Bleep Do We Know in terms of approach and the science that is discussed
  • it is not very hard to understand
  • it is not a simple theory
  • it's not about God or about religion
  • it is not based on assumptions that can not be verified

And here's what I can say about what it IS:

  • it's a two-chapter documentary: 1: 'God' is in The Neurons / 2: The Grand Scheme of Things
  • the first chapter deals with neuroscience and addresses core self-development issues from an angle you've probably never seen or read about before
  • the second chapter deals with the unification of quantum mechanics and relativity
  • the second chapter is very physics-oriented but is related to the first in the sense that it has certain philosophical, but not mystical, implications
  • the two-part documentary will be released in one go, the first chapter is pretty much finished, I'm currently working on the second chapter
  • future small expansion videos may be added to explore certain topics that are only briefly mentioned in the documentary
  • an incredible amount of effort has gone into putting ALL the information in the documentary, meaning: pretty much any future videos/post/expansions we will make can be derived from the main documentary, it's all in there, in a sense
  • it's fucking awesome

Title

'Project ASC' is what we've been calling 'the project' thus far, just to have a name for it, it actually doesn't mean anything (it sorta did at some point but you'll never know what the abbreviation originally stood for :D). The project encapsulates but is not limited to the documentary. You could say that 'Project ASC' refers to 'the next era of I Power'.

'God is in The Neurons' is the title of the first chapter of the documentary. At one point we planned to also make this the title of the whole thing, but this will probably change cause some people find it confusing and conclude that the documentary has to do with god in a very concrete sense. It doesn't, 'god' in the title is more of a metaphor.

Credentials, Peer review, Credibility & Expectations

When the documentary is released, we expect it to be deeply reviewed and discussed by science news websites, scientist writers and science students all over the Internet, resulting in more scrutiny than ordinary peer review. While some people are concerned about Chiren's credibility as a scientist with no academic background or even about the image of I Power post-launch, personally I'm not concerned about this because of several reasons:

  • Correlations in the documentary are fully based on verified experiments.
  • Hypotheses about aspects that go beyond the scope of these experiments are presented as nothing more than hypotheses.
  • These theories are generally more fleshed out and logical in relation to current scientific frameworks when compared to many other current popular 'unifying theory' ideas.
  • While the nature of this documentary's content is deeply scientific (and mathematical on the physics-side) and will be of great interest to scientists, we live in an age where even vague, deeply flawed mystical quantum theories as those presented in 'What The Bleep Do We Know' or even (though now I'm pushing it a bit) The Secret or the ideas of Deepak Chopra are met with a disturbing lack of healthy skepticism. What I mean by this is: Chiren set the bar extremely high for his own research, lightyears beyond the standards of many current popular theories, because even though many of those have been met with more praise than skepticism, we're not interested in sensationalism or vague claims, but in real science.
  • while this documentary may present several breakthroughs in physics, psychology and possibly also neuroscience, at its heart it strongly encourages the individual to make up his/her own mind on these things

Some also argue that it's simply impossible for Chiren to come up with any significant theories in these fields with the limited amount of time he has spent working on them. I fully understand this sentiment and it's one I would have myself. Though this is based on a common cultural misconception towards science. Any actual scientists we have spoken to, from the Max Planck Institute's main historian to rocket scientists (hey Evie ;)) and engineers have responded to find the possibility of Chiren making such discoveries fully plausible, as the history of science is full of significant contributions and discoveries made by 'amateurs'. Another argument is that all scientific discoveries are made based upon experimentation and that Chiren doesn't have a high-tech lab to conduct his experiments in, but the history of quantum mechanics is more filled with theories that were deemed to be sound based on current knowledge and previous experiments than theories based on new experiments.

Furthermore, I also realize that the expectations for this documentary are extremely high and some are concerned about them being too high. This happens with every high-profile release of anything and having had more than 5 years of experience now in viral video and community dynamics, I myself am confident that we are not creating any unrealistic expectations.

Origins

Our aim has always been from the start of our very first MovieLOL projects (this was pre-Athene) to gain some relevancy as entertainers in order to then use the platform we have to do great things. These 'great things' were, at the beginning, vague and only described along the lines of "inspire the masses on a very personal level to think more actively about their values and beliefs and act upon what they believe to be right, rather than be passive observers", because as a group we've always believed most in a kind of bottom-up 'self-development activism' rather than only protesting against evil institutions and so forth. But the idea for the I Power community was actually there very early on, including the 3 principles.

'Athene' was the first project of ours that really gave us that platform, which is why we stuck with it for so long. But alongside of that, we started I Power to sort of test the waters and figure out if this sort of thing could be the way for us to achieve our goal. Since we were still in the process of expanding our platform, figuring out the financial side and also, along the way, figuring out the activism side, I Power has mostly been a side-project until now.

About a year or so ago we reached the point where we believed it was time to go full force for 'the project', and thus Project ASC started. It initially started as the idea to focus full-force on I Power and finally come out with some pretty cool self-development material we had been working on. As we started working on different ways to present it, the final one being the documentary, Chiren got deeper and deeper into researching different aspects of it. What was initially psychological became more neuroscience-oriented along with radically new correlations that, up until now, have only been slightly touched upon by top neuroscientists. And parts that were initially just philosophical turned into full-fledged explorations of actual physics and quantum mechanics.

In short: Chiren wanted to go absolutely all out into presenting something that is 100% concrete, rather than just our own subjective views. He wasn't scared of going full-force into studying very difficult scientific concepts because he's always been amazing at maths and a genius at grasping anything that is really complex with amazing ease. He decided to look into the unification of quantum mechanics and relativity for two reasons, the initial one being that it would simply make the biggest splash in the scientific community (resulting in more exposure), even if it would only partially find new and solid answers to the current problems. But the further he got into it, the more that his primary reason became to compose a sort of a grand 'theory of everything' that answers as many deep philosophical questions as possible while staying mostly in the realm of pure science (and not psychology or philosophy), ranging from taking a deep scientific look at behavioral concepts like identity (in the neuroscience part), to tackling very hard existential questions about 'reality' and the universe (in the physics part). Through this process he has become so efficient and skilled at his research that he has taken on the role of the scientist and will continue working on further research while I will be more active in the foreground as a documentary-maker and community figure. The documentary will actually only cover a small part of his research, future documentaries (and/or releases of research papers) will shed light on his progress after this.

I'll pass it on to her ;)

and translations (incl to German) are something we'd love to do as a community project at some point.

Is it possible that someone translates the whole Project into german? i studied english only like 6 years in school and some parts of the neuroscience and quantum mechanics stuff like that is very difficult to understand for me :/

also special greetings to vanessa XD

Y'know... If we ever do decide to say what ASC stands for, I'm just gonna cheat and go with your definition, Evie, I love it :D.

Being right

In a sense I want to blow up the words “right” and “wrong”.  I want to banish them from my vocabulary.More specifically I do not ever wish to BE right. And I do not ever want to say to someone else “you are WRONG”. What is the purpose of being or proving oneself to be, right? And what is the purpose of proving someone else is wrong?Apart from some sort of ego based sense of satisfaction what is the purpose of these things? Can anyone give me an answer to this question? If someone says something…See More
