Scientific Research & Self-Development Activism
Hi there,
I've been away for some time and only posting once in a while when i saw something (for me) interesting coming up....
Most of the stuff which is discussed here is bullshit in my point of view.
But anyways....
Since all of us are so "super intellectual" and have so many great ideas and think in way of :"If all would be as super intellectual as I am, this world would instantly be paradise", I think we need to come down to earth a little bit and see ourselves much more critical.
We are just some freakin teenagers or young adults who think at all and that already makes a huge difference to the masses and may delude ourselves into thinking that we have some truly great ideas...
But that's not the case for most of us.
That's why I came to the conclusion that it is much more wise to stop all these pseudo-intellectual discussions and start with the real self-development again.
There is one saying which deeply inspired me:
"World peace through Self-Peace"
That's why I decided to back up and really start to focus on loving actions and loving deeds.
First of all we need to come in peace with ourselves and as soon as we are, we can start to "work" on others.
By "working" on others I mean living an positive example!!!
There is no way you can force someone to quit eating meat by intellectual discussion.
The only way which may work, is to show them how easy it is to stop it, how happy I became through that and how much I enjoy eating vegetarian food. (and sometimes mentioning something like “It really gives me great peace of mind to know that I do not hire or pay people to murder animals just for the short-time pleasure and satisfaction of my tongue ;)", to start their thinking process)
Only by showing a positive example and really making them feel, that it makes you feel good (ofc, this is hard to fake and you shouldn't fake it because then your whole point would be a lie to them and to yourself), they'll really start to qustion their own behavior and may ask you things like “how to you do that to always be in such a balanced mood?” or “how do you do that, that you don't get angry if something doesn't work in the way you wanted it to work” and so on....
If they do, I'll tell them about meditation and detachment, and you may believe it or not, I've already had six people in my apartment and showed them how to meditate. And at least 3 of them started to practice regularly.
As some forum members already know, I take "self-development" a little but further and call it "yoga" which means “to join with the divine”... I don't want to go further into it as I know anything beyond our limited scientific understanding of the universe is not appreciated here,
So let's say my personal goal, or what I try to archive with "self-development" is to fully emotional detach from all my actions, my body and mind and re-identify myself with the pure consciousness within, and also I want to learn to truly (and not fake it) feel love towards all beings, humans, animals, plants and so on since I have found for myself that true and sincere love is the feeling I enjoy most. It is just so blissful and beautiful.
So I thought to myself:”why try to find it in a girl, where it is likely to be lost over time (I came to that conclusion by watching at all the relationships out there) when I also could try to develop universal love towards all within myself which is then independent of any others”;)
Anyway,
I can see that the only real way of getting into world peace is when every individual comes to self-peace. And because one can hardly intellectually force others into changing their behavior I think it is the best way to change our own behavior fist.
As you can see, it a slightly paradox, that I interlectually want to make you start with yourself first, by saying that it's very hard to change others by intellectual argumentation.
But that's life ;)
