Scientific Research & Self-Development Activism
Hello iPower. I'm back from my holiday in Cyprus and I feel quite refreshed even if somewhat tired from the return journey.
Cyprus is a beautiful country with proud people, a welcoming culture and a disregard for health and safety that I fell in love with. I went with my girlfriend and we relaxed, drank cocktails and sat in a jacuzzi a lot of the time. We took an ATV and drove around beaches and over mountains and had an awesome time.
But enough about my break, it's over now and I need to get back to work...
Before I left I had just begun reading articles about the Zeitgeist movement, the Venus Project and Resource Based Economy and upon my return I kept reading and decided what I want to do with my life now. My current goals can stay the same in that I want to produce entertaining and informative content, raise money for charity and just keep enough to sustain myself but now the overall goal in this will be to raise awareness of the possibility of this new era of civilisation to exist and eliminate all of today's societal problems.
The problem is where to begin?
Where do I start a project so large it has the potential to not only change the way people view our world but to transform the entire planet into a better place for not just humans, but all life?
Easy: it doesn't really matter where, so long as I start. So here I go... The new plan is this:
Goal |
Aim |
How |
Learn Web Design |
- Use skills learnt to get a job so I can have money as a way to sustain myself in the current monetary reliant society - Use skills to create content that achieves the goals of making a better world, spreading awareness of these goals and helping others achieve these goals |
1 Use books, internet sources and free/open source software to learn 2 Create websites for free and develop a portfolio of websites 3 Use portfolio to get a freelance job designing websites or a job with a web design company. |
Get less stressful job |
- Allow me not to waste time worrying or stressing about work which impedes my creative ability and leads to procrastination - Gain money so I can sustain myself in the current monetary reliant society |
1 Apply for tons of jobs 2 If the job is rubbish go back to step one 3 If the job is good then keep at it while you learn web design / get into university |
Get into university |
- Gain more knowledge and skills that will enable me to achieve the goals of making the world a better place for all life - Meet more like minded people who want to change the world positively and inspire others to help |
1 Save money from jobs to get into university 2 Move jobs closer to university so have money while studying OR find a way to get state financial assistance OR wait until 25 years old for above |

Firstly, thanks for your interest in the site, contact me in June and hopefully I will have enough knowledge to help you as you learn too so maybe we can start creating the site sooner.
As for the comment about trade and such, I do have a plan, I'm just not sharing it all here because that would take far too long. Also, not sure if you understood parts of this post, I don't want financial success. I just want enough to survive, not even to prosper yet, because I want the world to prosper with me. Financial success nowadays means financial downfalls of others which leads to all of the world's problems, the symptoms of the monetary system.
As for reading self dev books- I do occasionally, although I find lectures and more up to date articles online, much more interesting and rich in content. At the moment I'm reading "How to gain friends and influence people" and already like you said and as suggested in the preface to the book, I'm making notes and even highlighting certain parts of the book and going over them again before I read on.
In regards to your last comment, I agree with you that we should always take some time from the day to leave work but I believe that entertainment that let's us escape reality is perfectly fine as long as we know that the game is just a game. I self-reflect and meditate as part of a daily routine too and agree everyone should do the same :P
Thanks for commenting bro :D
Comment by Kokomo on February 22, 2012 at 8:50pm Being driven to your goals is good, but we are not machines. We can't keep working non stop like 24 hours. It is important that you take some time from the day and pull yourself outside and go for a walk with nature, and just reflect on life. I feel so many of us are just thirsting for those moments of self reflection, but we are starving ourselves more by living in this fabricated twisted escape reality of games, tv shows, movies, and stuff, which is good and all, but just don't lose your touch with the world.
Comment by Kokomo on February 22, 2012 at 8:46pm I highly recommend reading self development books in your spare time instead of playing video games. Read books like Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins, and Eckhart Tolle power of now. Become aware of what is more important and most valuable for you at this present moment and draw your energy to working on completing those desired tasks. Understand your values.
When I am reading a very good self development book the information is very extensive, so it is good idea to read just like one chapter and take some time to think over the principals and then read some more. Anyways success starts at your home. Become more self aware, and don't rush reading through a whole book. Try and squeeze and gain as much information possible in small chunks, so it stays with you longer.

I want to work with you with a creation of this website. I have a great idea, but I don't have the technical skills required to start website, but I think I will work on them after school finishes. Got 4 months to learn. If I am focused I can learn everything in 1 month, and then another month I can figure out how to create website and learn more programming. At the end of June I will contact you again if you are interested in working with me in the creation of a website like no other...
Gives us July and August to work on the website. Completely free website. I am not thinking about it in terms of profit, but more in terms of a learning experience as of now.
-As for having no trades, no skills, no access to education, this is what I suggest. Save your money and make smart investments by putting your money into things you see will be profitable for you in the future. Have like a destined amount of money you want to make by a certain deadline and save your money, watch your spending, and give up on some fun for now, so you can have success in the future. The way of financial success is complex, so I suggest reading books, modelling other people, and just improving on your business knowledge. Once you have desired amount of money you will be able to go to university, but remember to pick a career path that is going to benefit you realistically in the future. Don't waste your time and money on career path, which has no benefit. I suggest if you like something with a passion, but it is not profitable then keep it as a hobby unless your willing to risk it all and love that passion to the bottom of your heart.

How far in and how long for? xD I don't have time to listen to that when I'm trying to watch the TROM documentaries and TED lectures and the defining peace lectures by Peter Joseph (the zeitgeist movement founder)

I don't really see how a timeline could help or exist with these goals, especially considering the current "job market" for someone my age (20) in the UK with no trade skills, no access to education (I'd need to quit work to be able to attend but then I couldn't afford the fees) and no higher education access (no access to state financial aid for reasons outlined in previous posts)
With learning web design, basically I'll learn as fast as possible and then learn to create timelines in which I work out how long it should take me to create websites or content.
With getting into university, it's either find some sort of loophole in the legislation that decide who gets financial aid, legally disown my parents to become legally independent, wait until I'm 25 (legally independent) or once I move out find a way to convince the government that I am independent if not yet legally.
@Maikel
I tried the link but the podcast I move to seems to be some strange discussion by some people who use natural drugs to enhance themselves...
here is an interesting podcast with the "leader"of the zeitgeist movement wich gives a really detailed view on what the movement is about.
Comment by Kokomo on February 21, 2012 at 8:18pm I suggest you check out unlimited power by Tony Robbins. It is good you have written down these goals, but you have to create a time line
Comment by Focking Original on February 21, 2012 at 1:39pm Awesome life plan you got there sir! +10
