This is why I can't stand copyright law when its something thats not art. You shouldn't be allowed to legally own an idea when it could be something someone else can think of!

Apparently Rolls Royce own the patents to some sort of trajectory that they sold to NASA meaning that other space programmes struggled to start cos their calculations relied on that answer which was something they came to by themselves and happened to be the same!
Not sure if that example is correct, but there is something like that lol

But I know what you mean, it's like Scene Kids lol They try to be so different from being goth and swag crap and all the other crap that they end up just being a mix of them all

I think in terms of originality sometimes people don't even realise that that is what they afraid of.  For example you have a group of close friends and everyone is happy in their place in that group and then someone new enters.  The dynamic changes, now this person may intergrate seemlessly into that group or they put someone out by performing a role that someone already feels that it is their role to fulfill.  This in turn can lead to the original member feeling insecure about his/her place in the group.  Its an understandable and natural reaction I feel especially for children. But it is of course irrational to feel this way of course because if these people are real friends then they will support each other no matter what the change to the dynamic.

So lets take this idea away from the group example and apply it to the world at large and our place in it.  In this example I completely agree you can not operate successfully in this world if you are under the false assumption that your uniqueness is some kind of thing that needs to be maintained at all costs.  Absolutely I agree this would be a completely unnessasary stress on that person like you say because if their focus is on this you would by default be extremely selfish and would miss out on a lot in terms of learning new ideas and embracing new experiences.

This reminded me of when i met a friend of a friend. He reminded me so much of myself and we where both like "OMGz we have so much in common!". And we pretty much just spent the whole party discussing everything from human psychology, pick-up tricks to politics and nyan cat.

This video reminded me a lot of stuff (like the Capgras syndrome I've discovered here at one video, the film of "TThe boys from Brazil", or E.Alan Poe "Tales of mystery and imagination")

Let's see if I'm able of writting properly (Excuse my poor grammar).

First of all I wanna send a reflexion:

                                  Is everything already invented?

After thinking about it, that's when I realyze the real value of original stuff and that new ideas aren't seeked.

You can't look for a brand new idea, they just come. It's inspiration wich provides some of them to normal minds (I think there's no need to be labeled as a "genius" or "privileged mind" -that's "crowd thaughts" to justificate and accept their lack of originality ), but there are just a few of them wich can make this idea happen in a substancial profitable way.

When one look for originality is when "mix" happens. Should mixes be considered as original ideas? It's not easy to answer, because I think it depends on the point of view. I like thinking about that as a kind of evolution of former ideas (wiche they already were invented). That's when people can work on former creations from someone else (Yes, I've seen some copyright posts and I'm stil under it's efects =P )  That way whe have super cool smartphones (phone, camera/video, pc, notebook, tv...all in one), collages at art, remixed songs at music... and so on.

The question is where is the limit of being original or copied? Who can point it?

On personalities I think it's a bit similar. There are several recogniced personality "topics" (for example the angry guy, The I-don't-give-a-sh#i guy, the smart guy...), and the individual can move into a range of possibilities. Despite we can clasify someway people acording to their "personality topic" I don't like to be "clasist", I think that each person has a unique personality conditioned by their's own experiences during their lives, and similar experiencs (let's be realistic, no one can have exactly the same experiences as you, doesn't matter if it's between identical twins or whatever -I mean matter can't take the same place wichs already occuped) would condition similar behaviours and personalities.

I think looking for an extravagant way to behave/wear/think just because you wanna be different can be ridiculous (but indeed a good way to stand out of the crowd and highlight).

I'm not sure if adopting a different way to think/behave...watever is a form of hidding "your own nature" or to creating/improving a new one.

I wanna believe that I can change and I can have some control of it.
