Came across this video-clip today. I would like some opinions of (American) Ipower members on this topic, because I'm not that informed about it. Is it possible that this situation will occur in the near future and how likely do you think it is? Is this exaggerated and fear spreading?

This guy isn't the most presentable fellow to look at, and from checking out his YouTube channel and his personal web page he seems to be very egotistical, as well as a bit of an New World Order conspiracist and fear-monger, but... his views aren't as extreme as some others that I've seen out there;  and, it appears that he does like to get his facts straight.

{Not sure if that applies all the time.  heh}

But anyway, in this particular case I think that he has every right to raise an alarm;  although I doubt that most Americans out there will care, or pay any attention.  It's amazing how stupid people are in this country -- and brainwashed by all the patriotic and consumerist propaganda that we are bombarded with on a daily basis.

I do think it is wrong of people to blame Obama for things like this, though.  I mean, c'mon... its not like he is some evil despot who intends to take over America in a military coup.  No!  Like all other Presidents in this screwed up country, Obama is just a puppet; and Executive Orders like this one are put in place for any one of them to use, if & when they are told to do so by the people behind the scenes who are really pulling all the strings.

{That makes me sound like a conspiracist, huh?  LOL}

Well, in any case, the truth of the matter is simply that we are already in a "New World", {although it's not very ordered right now, lol,}  and that the explosive growth of technology and interconnectivity that we are all experiencing is scaring the hell out of the ruling elite, in every nation.  Not just here in America.  Corporate Capitalism has had its pants pulled down and its ass exposed;  the international bankers are sweating blood;  and governments everywhere are scurrying to implement "National Security" measures that will enable them to squash popular uprisings - whenever & wherever they occur.

When Egypt shut down the internet people said that something like that could never happen here; but they were wrong.  This particular Executive Order allows our government to do exactly that.  But it's also just "another brick in the wall", so to speak.  The U.S. government {both Republicans and Democrats}  has been slowly and quietly making steps to enable rapidly turn this country into a Military Police State ever since 9/11.  And there is some evidence to suggest that they have been making advances in this direction as far back as the 1980's starting with President Reagan.

Sucks... but what we gonna do?  :-)

I'd like to discuss something that bothers me about people, how often times people condemn others for doing something wrong all the while ignoring their own transgressions. I'm going to use an extreme example of school shooters. Society condemns…See More
