Comment by Oliver Williams on February 25, 2012 at 7:52pm the issue isnt that people dont know the food is bad for them, its that they arent informed that their is anyother way to live, or are happy with the problem, or cant stop... from what I see at least
Comment by Oliver Williams on February 25, 2012 at 7:49pm I think this video is a bit obvious, they make it seem like any of this is new information... like no one knows that candy, soda, donuts, sugary cereal, and drinks are bad for you. I think the only one on here that anyone could profit off hearing is the white bread, but even that is close to common knowledge for any somewhat educated person
Comment by Jack Skramstad on February 25, 2012 at 4:11pm The key to stopping the obesity pandemic is to raise awareness. Surprisingly enough most people don't have an exact idea of what to eat, and what not to eat. People like the woman above ( Corrina from Pyschetruth) have valuable information, but are not very well known. In America, the obesity percentage is rising at an alarming rate. What people need to understand is that every weight loss program, although maybe designed to help you loose weight, is constructed to keep you using their program for an extended period of time. Those programs are not the quickest, easiest, or most healthy way to controlling your weight. Just as they are designed to make money and to make a profit off of you, foods that are bad for you ( above video) are designed to bring you back. Cravings are not randomly generated in your mind, they are actually mild addictions. That's right, food is addictive. Most foods, for example Coke Soda, is designed to chemically addict your brain to it. Some people are environmentally incapable of eating healthy. Their family members, co-workers, or friends have bad food sitting around. That, is the main problem because whether most people would like to admit it or not, the willpower to resist unhealthy foods is not always there. And that is because of the mild addictions. The key to edging off of unhealthy diets is to throw out all your unhealthy food at your house, and to stock it with healthy foods. You will get hungry, and you will have to turn to the healthy foods, no matter what you're craving. If you can resist those unhealthy foods for a while, you will find that you will feel much better , and as candy tasted to you before, fruit tastes to you now. Additionally, I can explain on a scientific level why you will feel better and you will no longer have cravings, but I will spare you that information for now. If you wish to know more I will certainly post about it. I have much more information on this topic that I have collected in independent studies but as this rant has gotten quite long I will end it here. I will happily answer any questions.
Comment by Kokomo on February 24, 2012 at 8:24pm nvm not starve, but constantly fasting. That would be a better alternative then eating junk food throughout the day. I believe junk food is a pollutant to the body. At least if I fast I can enhance my mediation and spiritual self.
Comment by Kokomo on February 24, 2012 at 8:18pm I agree healthy food is more expensive and I hate that. I just buy them in small amounts when I am at grocery store. Like I will pick out a bottle of flex seed oil if I see it in store and that lasts me like a month. 10.99$. I buy sardines, which are packed with omega 3, vitamin D and Selenium, so much protein. 97 cents. I guess people just don't like the taste. My mom buys eggs and I eat those. I try and to eat as much fruits and vegetables, and I usually need to restock every weak. Sometimes get organic, but not organic. Just wash them stuff and it is good in my opinion. Mix a lot of vegetables with cooked meat like (chicken, beef, and fish). I try and eat small amounts throughout the day. Probably one day I will learn hunting, so I can get fresh meat, but I do get fresh goat sometimes because of religious holiday. I eat whole wheat carbohydrates, and the bread is like 2.50$, and pasta box usually like 8.99$ I buy every now and then. Eat lots of oats, and beans are pretty cheap. Healthy food is out there. It is not dirt cheap, or free, but I would rather starve to death then eat junk food like constantly. I do eat junk food every now and then, but I will try and stop that when I am trying to lose weight .Right now I am just gaining weight and am at like 202lbs.
Comment by The Shiznit on February 21, 2012 at 11:22pm Thanks for uploading this one Koko. I've seen a lot of people talk about exercising around here, but hardly anybody ever talks about nutrition and avoiding things that are unhealthy for you. PsycheTruth is a good, highly informative channel, too. I've been subscribed to them for a long time.
